09/5 2010. I have a 1991 Keywest 1900 series dual console and it is still in excellent shape,A few small cracks in the gel coat but nothing of concern.The engine is a 1991 Suzuki 140 two stroke and the boat will run about 45 mph.

We decided against using a 1 inch bit because as we were drilling in with the 1/2 inch bit, the gel coat on the outside would crack off (just a little) from the outside diameter of the bit.

Are the hull and deck in the original gelcoat or have they been painted ? Original gelcoat 12. Is there any visible damage to hull-deck joint / toerail or any signs of leaking from this area

gels and regular acrylic are often the same.. same structure and how they are applied… the only different part is when after they buff your nails.. they would NOT add oil to your nails but they would put a coat of gels ontop… gel dry …

My only solace is that I had to ride my heavy touring bike because my carbon frame had started flexing a bit, making me suspect those cracks where the chain stays meet the bottom bracket were not just in the gel coat . …
